I was raised in Pennsylvania on books and sports, which are still my favorite obsessions. I'm also a fan of accents, raptor impressions, and impromptu songs and jigs.
I double-majored in English and Psychology, then went on to earn an M.A. in English. I taught community college in Maryland for a few years, which I quite enjoyed, but a cross-country bicycle trip eventually lured my husband and me to Oregon, where we plan to stay despite the rain.
We adopted an adorable and quirky puppy named Karou, who I suspect is at least part American dingo.
And we just had our first child, a son born May 2016!
I have three different day jobs: academically advising community college student-athletes, assisting high school seniors as they transition to community college, and helping individuals on the autism spectrum improve their academic and social thinking skills.
Most importantly, I've always wanted to be a writer and have finally decided to do something about it.
